Decided to take the back roads home today from work and this guy was nice enough to hang around and pose.
This one is a heavy crop. He was keeping an eye on me

These owls are so cute looking and it makes one want to put one in your pocket and take home with you.

Thanks for sharing these--one of my favorite animals. After burrowing owl populations seemed to plummet in the west a few years ago, it seems like the numbers have gone up. Maybe drought favors these owls?

Could it just be that they relocate to areas that happen to be more accessible when their is a drought? Like irrigation ditches?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
