Playing with the new macro lens.

I got the Canon 50 F2.5 macro lens a couple days ago.
I haven't had much time to play with it, but I did get this kind-of-cool pic
tonight. This is the full frame, I did sharpen it a little.
Ordinary things may take on a whole new light.

ps. You probably already figured out a tripod and shutter release are your friends with this lens.

Nice shot, it's the end of a pair of nail clippers right ?
Now you just need some really cool bugs and you'll be set
Glad to see your enjoying your new equipment, can't wait to see what you get up to when you shoot some outdoor things

I'm wondering about this ratio thing.
I have a lens that will make things 1/2 the normal size. The camera has a
1.6 crop factor. Does this make it more then 1:2 ?
How about if I add a Tamron 1.4 TC.? I know this works, cause I tried it.
I've also tried the Quantaray 2X TC. It will work with this lens also.
We also have a old set of close up filters/lenses that fit on the lens. That's
some of the reason that I bought this 50mm instead of the f1.8 or f1.4.
I'm going to say that with the crop factor and the 1.4 TC, I'm at more
than a 1:1 ratio, and I got there fairly cheap.
Am I thinking wrong?
