Well the MP-E is used. Picked it up a couple of weeks ago and have been patiently waiting for the focus rail to come in.
Right away, I can see the difference in quality from the reverse setup. Clarity edge to edge. I also noticed there seems to be more DOF. I would have needed about 100 images to get the image below with my reverse setup.
43 images, f5.6, 1.3sec, ISO100, MP-E65 @ 3x, 3 LEDs, diffused with plastic cup, lined with paper towel, mirror lockup, remote shutter release, focus rail.
