Gallery Thumbnails not updating

I know I'm missing something, but I can't remember :dunno

My gallery categories page has thumbnail images of course. The picture chosen automatically for the image is an old one and I would like to change it or have it change but don't know how to get it to update.

What would be a way to have a preset gallery page that doesn't dynamically update and I can choose exactly what image would be displayed. I 've noticed some sites have a fixed image. Another reason I'm interested in this is to get the gallery thumbnails better situated on the page, instead of jammed in the upper left corner.

That will let you pick the featured photo for the gallery.

Sorry, I knew there might be some confusion as to what I was trying to accomplish. I know how to set the featured photo for an individual gallery, but the thumbnail that displays for the categories page I can't figure out (the page in my link that goes to groups of galleries)

The first gallery in the category is used for the category thumbnail. If you'd like a different gallery to be used, just arrange that gallery to be the first with the 'arrange' option on the category page.

I knew it was something easy. Just couldn't remember or find the answer! Thanks!
