Does the Canon Loyalty Program do lenses/flashes?

I'm wondering if my no-longer-supported (and now broken) 430ex might qualify me for CLP purchase of a 430exII (I see they have them as refurbs).

Does anybody know if the program extends to accessories, or is it only camera bodies? I'll give them a call on Monday, but just wondered if anybody might know. Thanks in advance!

While the Loyalty program is tied to the Refurbished program (i.e. you can check the refurbished selections before you call the loyalty program to see what's available), and the Loyalty program appears to be exclusive to refurbished camera bodies, there does seem to be some "wiggle room" within the program. (For instance, I do see some examples of people obtaining a body and a lens through the Canon Loyalty program.)

I think this is one of those, "it doesn't hurt to ask" situations. Just give them a call and explain your situation, that you really are a loyal Canon user, and that you don't need a body, just a flash. It might help to ask to talk to a supervisor.

How funny - I was actually on the phone with them when your message appeared :) Sadly, no, they will not do anything with flashes - they will sometimes bundle items on a body trade-in, but that's it. Oh well - it was worth a try!

    Along the same lines...
If my 430EX went down, I would definitely look into the Metz 50 AF-1. It seems to have all of the bells and whistles of the 430EXii and then some!
