One of the volunteers from our American Maltese Rescue was at a Los Angeles area shelter inquiring about a Maltese in that shelter's custody when a man came up to her with a male and female Maltese asking her to take them so he would not have to place them in the shelter...
They were filthy and flea infested but, otherwise relatively healthy. We named them Romeo and Juliet, cleaned them, groomed them and had them spayed and neutered. We also had dental work done and microchips installed. They are now ready for adoption and we have already had inqueries on families who want to adopt the pair together...
