Big Concert Photographers?

Like the last few Rush concerts and even the recent Van Halen tour, theres always just 2 or 3 guys in the back, with the best gear, biggest lenses, taking pics. Then above them is the humongus video camera.

Who needs all these pics? Someone pay for them? Night after night they tour around, year after year, dont they have enough?

And these guys looked like they could care less to be there.

    Usually those are local press photographers shooting for local newspapers, if it's a big newsworthy tour could also be press there assigned from national media as well ( such as USA today etc).
    For most of those photographers, they are not there as fans, but as part of their workday. Just another day at the office so to speak!
