i recently bought an m42 screwmount to eos adapter from stephen gandy at cameraquest.

unusually for me, i sent him too much money, and was unaware of it until a $90.00 refund appeared in the post.

so hats off to stephen gandy at cameraquest-an honest man.

its worth checking out his site-he has a lot of very good quality adapters.he mainly sells leica and voigtlander gear(US distributor for the latter) and has some very good deals on the latest voigtlander bessa rangefinder camera.

if i buy another film camera it will likely to be a bessa- a very nice looking, compact, unobtrusive and quiet camera which is perfect for street shooting and with the 1.2 lens excellent for low light and shallow depth of field work.

so if you want to take advantage of some classic takumar or leica lenses then this is the place to go.

here is his site : http://www.cameraquest.com/inventor.htm

This may be blasphemy to a classic leica mount film camera aficionado BUT I think it would be great if someone would make a digital "film back" to be used with one of these Leica Mount Rangefinders.

I know epson has one out but at $3000 it's too much. Something like a Voigtlander Bessa R3A with a back that included a good quality sensor - not necessarily a lot of features (ISO, RAW). Frankly I wouldn't even care if it had an LCD review capability. Something that would be similar to shooting film on a leica type RF but give me direct PS editing capabilities (without scanning film).

I'm probably the only guy who would be interested in something like this . . .

    Probably waxing nostalgic . . .

I am not wanting to hijaak this thread, but there is a product that was announced, but never released, that could replace film in most 35mm film cameras (supposedly). The product was called the "EFS10-SF" from SiliconFilm.

I'll start a new thread in "Accessories".
