Generally, I'm a sucker for a wide angle shot with a foreground anchor. But in this case I think I prefer the no log image.
I think the log is too strong of an anchor and doesn't allow my eye to explore the waterfall as freely as it should.
In either case, it's a gorgeous image.

No log. The added trees above the falls do more for the picture in the second shot.

I kind of like the log, but if you could crop it more closer to #2. Either way both are fine images.
