Out hunting for rust this past weekend I came across this old truck on the side of the road and found it covered with overgrown weeds. The exterior of the truck was pretty rusty but once I could get the door open the interior looked much better.rusty-truck-interior-2-L.jpg

This is an interesting shot, Tom. The OTT ( over the top ) processing certainly brings out a wild array of colors. Ask yourself, though, which shot....this one or your first posted one....would you consider framing for the wall. I'd bet it would be the first one. Why? The extreme processing we JUNKIES do is far better suited to abstracts. This subject....while certainly representing a part of the whole...is not an abstract in the pure sense.

When the scene involves more elements than isolated rust, as this one does, the extreme processing seems to bog down and morph into something a good bit removed from accentuating the wonders of rust. Others may feel differently, but the most successful images of the RUST JUNKIE approach, that I've ever seen or personally produced, have all been pure abstracts.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks for that input. I did wonder if it would fit the original idea of the Rust Junkies venue and was hoping for just this kind of critique as I find my way into the realm. I have a much better idea now of where to go. Thanks again.
