Which is better - a Kart racing photo for your C&C's

The following photos were taking during a local race. Looking for some editing suggestions and or comments. Photo 1 is straight out of the camera, Photo 2 well lightroomed.
No reason to give positioning changes ... these were taken shooting over a fence, did not have track access, though I think the height wasn't an issue.

    While some will have heartburn over the saturation in #2, personally I really like it. I like sports photos that pop off the page, but don't look unreal. I think you've accomplished that in #2. Good job.

    I like #2 because of the grittiness of the photo? Who knows. I did bump the reds, I do not remember that cart being that pail?
