Hey folks...I'd repost here, but I'm pretty low on sleep and energy. You can follow my coverage of the RNC here if you're interested.

Great job, Quincy! Had wondered how you were faring down there. Looking forward to seeing more as it develops, so to speak.

    http://www.demotix.com/news/1410251/arrest-made-republican-national-convention-tampa

Good start on the coverage, but a suggestion on the cutline...

"A young man named Dominic del Rosa, 19, was arrested by police outside the Republican National Convention after failing to comply with an event ordinance which prohibits the wearing of masks covering the face."

The "A young man named" is redundant. Also, the cutline should include where and when. I am no expert, but something like this might meet the requirements of several news organizations...

"Dominic del Rosa, 19, was arrested after failing to comply with an event ordinance which prohibits the wearing of masks outside the Republican National Convention in CITY on FULL_DATE."

The second cutline seems a lot cleaner, especially when packaged together with the first image.
Please feel free to post any reworks you do of my images. Crop, skew, munge, edit, share.

Thanks, Demotix automatically inserts their stuff based on how they want it to an extent. My caption sounded a bit more like yours.

Anyway, there's more stuff out there today.

The Demo coverage of the Republican convention is nothing more that their protest .Ever wonder what JOBS the protesters have ,who they work for ?? why not ask what do you do before and after you protest ? or more of the hurricane coverage oh yea sorry, the rain coverage but it is some bad rain.

You did say it the way it was but it was set up for a photo op ,that is just my way of looking at it

1st and 4th in the Code Pink set are good. Why not post them here.

I don't know the Code Pink story, so did someone else tell you where to go and shoot? My point is you took the shots, no need to make excuses. You do need to change your headshot on their site. Bad, bad conversion with lots of artefacts. You're DGrin avatar would be a definite improvement.

I'm going to echo everyone else here: great shots.

I would also like to echo RyanS's comments about the copy. It really needs some editing. It often falls into passive voice at the expense of clarity.

For example, you write that Actor Evan Handler "was seen." Ok, but by whom? Who saw Mr. Handler? If the answer is that everyone present saw him, and assumming Mr. Handler was not trying to disguise himself, the phrase is likely redundant.

In the Code Pink section, you stated that some people "were removed." Who removed them? State Police? Local Police? FBI? Convention organizers? How were they removed? Escorted out? Politely asked to leave? Threatened with arrest? I have my guesses based on your picture, but they are just guesses.

Just a little nit. These are some fine, fine photos.

Thanks Mark. I'm just learning to cope with the limited captioning space, I guess. It's hard to fit all of this very pertinent information in 250 characters.
