That first sign's downright scary, when you think about it. This shot is what I think of, when I think of Damonff in America. Gritty reality.
    Sid.

Sid, thanks for the compliment. Simone, it's a huge compliment to be compared to Sid - thanks. Gubbs, thanks again.

Damon, great to see you getting your feet on the ground in DC. I think you are going to create at least as good a body of work there as you did in China.

Good subject for photojournalism, but I am distracted by the fact that focus in on the trees and not on the people or sign. I'd consider reshooting this thing many times. Perhaps vertical orientation and more zoom?

Yes, and B&W makes sense. Very HCB. (Did you buy HCB in India yet?)

    6971677-S.jpg

Strong statement and selective focus works here.

    6971668-S.jpg

I can feel the heat of the day in the blown highlight. Focus on the trash thing in the foreground works for some magical reason.

Great image. Obvious reason for B&W. Deserves a title like "Amish in DC / 1 Aug 2004" to put it in context.

    6971675-S.jpg

Again, just great. Great composition and contrast. Again, consider a short title to put in context, if only place and date. (HCB did this a lot and it matters a lot.)

    6971662-S.jpg

    Very Damon.

What does this one say? I guess I don't get it.
    If not now, when?
