Looking down from what is up

Coming onto the Pitt Street Bridge area, I see that the tide is out, the area looks dry with only two lonely pelicans around as representing the bird family.

But walking a bit and looking down, a heron hunts, he is small, but made to look smaller by the large amount of marsh grasses lining the creek in the marsh. I was far away, this is the bird there was. I am showing these practically, if not always, full frame. Perspective can be important sometimes. These are my conditions in my world........often.

Hunting for food he raises his wings thereby shading the water for the purpose of catching fish.

In the above photo, the wings completely encircle the small bird. Looking very closely his head/beak is poking out to my right.

I find this behavior fascinating.

The birds are skittish as we get deeper into fall. These little tris will fly off at a movement even at this far distance. I wanted to show how isolated the birds are and the room in which they can maneuver. How they can hide down in creeks not seen in the cover of the marsh grass.

Just a few photos, I realize they could not be blown up large, but I think they are interesting.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
