Mermaids and the sailor...

We had a fun session last weekend with some friends who were willing to help us out with a theme my wife wanted to work out... Mermaids.
Budget was fairly low, but we made do, and in my opinion, it turned out pretty good!
Not all of the girls had tails, as this was the "various stages" i.e. full tail, able to walk, etc.

Your model is well exposed and the pose works well with the theme.
#4 and #5 doesn't work with me. The lighting and pose doesn't work at all in #4 and the color/white balance seems off on #5.
#1 has too much PP with blacks, IMO.

It never gets easier, you just get better.
Well, to be completely honest, it looks like you just popped the on-camera flash/or speedlite and blasted her full on in the face. It's not good at all really.
I'm not sure what you were trying to achieve, but that shot would require some serious off camera lighting and consideration in that low light level.
Some of the others suffer a bit from the harsh light...

Zoomer, the stiff arm bit was due to the idea of the sailor shunning the human woman in favor of the mermaid he had on his arm. And yes, we had a LOT of fun!
I really liked #2 as well. I've shot with this young lady before; about a year and a half ago. You can see an example of that session here:
