I know some of you are not big fans of HDR, but I'd like to get your thoughts on these. They're a blend of 5 seperate exposures, merged in Photomatix, with a final tweek in Topaz Adjust, blended with the original tone mapped image.

I like the perspective and composition of the first one.

Everytime I see it on TV or in an image it reminds that I was in a nearby hotel of this landmark.

Thanks Phil, I had to wait for the tide to go out, to get the low perspective and composition, I was hoping for a stunning sunset to compliment the colours of the bridge, but it wasn't playing ball, the sun was blocked by clouds in the distance.

I like the first one best. Been there regarding the non-cooperating sun, so I can share your pain. A suggestion: I would clone out that contrail and maybe straighten the towers (they are converging) using transform in Photoshop. Great color!

I agree. I like the 1st one and clone out that contrail. Not sure the converging towers bother me as much as the contrail, but I do love the color and HDR work. However, if it were me I would maybe experiment making the scene just a tad darker so the bridge pops more.

    Very nice shot!!! thumb.gif

#1 is fabulous. Agree about the contrail too. Best angle of the bridge too. Beautiful light! The Olympic rings make this shot. Wonder how long the rings will stay up?

    Cheers.

The rings were removed days after I took the shot, they have now been replaced by the Paralympic swooshes.

    Thanks Len.

I tried straightening the towers, but it just looked wrong.

I'll have to dig out travel itinerary to answer that. I traveled so much for while that I can't remember the details. I just remember taking my camera out as much as I could when I wasn't working on my other job.
