I think that the location has a great deal of potential, and you have some nice tones between the green and browns. There is a nice leading line with the river, but it doesn't take me anywhere. It would be nice if there was a nice subject or eye grabbing object at the end of the river. For my eye, you haven't used your post processing to lead my eye through the image. Everything has about the same level of brightness, contrast and color. You haven't told us where you want us to look and what story you are trying to tell. Perhaps if the river is the subject, you could darken the surrounding so that the river becomes brighter and more prominent. Adding some local contrast in the water would enhance some of the reflective details.
The river (and its reflections) were intended to be the subject - I wanted to convey the tranquility of the location and I can see what you mean about the evenness of brightness, contrast and colour. I may reprocess it as you suggest.
