Urbex Image One

Seems that these Urbex people generally add some HDR effects to their images, and I don't usually, but here I have given it a go.

This old barrel in this room gives a strong contrast to the mosses and ivy, and shrubbery outside the walls, and the interior paintwork.

This was my first ever Urban Experience session, so I didn't really have much idea, so bear with me!

WDYT?

Exif:

ISO 100, 18mm end of the 18-55mm lens, various exposure times at 2 stop brackets at f/9.5

OK, I have a couple of thoughts on this one. It's pleasant enough as it stands and it's certainly a shot worth taking. But: the HDR effects make the light look entirely unnatural--tell me where the light is coming from and how it can be so even? I also think it a tighter shot might have been called for--the lower third of the frame doesn't add much, IMO. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I'm sure you'll get a different opinion from the many HDR fans out there. ne_nau.gif

    Thanks Richard for the feedback.

I have a crop from about a third the way up and tighter to the left of the old oil drum. The light was all from the window - but there is an opening to the outside on the extreme bottom left, out of shot.

Seems to be the antithesis of subject separation; too much?

    Cheers for that input Rags.

My friend and I thought the rust colour made it, but what I love about photography is the objective/subjective reactions an image evokes.
