Peregrine Takeoff from beach
While certainly not the greatest image for many reasons, it was interesting. The bands suggest the bird was relocated, probably while still in the egg. I had sent the image to our local NPS expert at Assateague Island, Tami Pearl, who recognized the bands and was able to get some data from the tags. The falcon was sitting on the top of the sea edge berm as I drove along the waters edge. I let the truck drift slowly as I grabbed what I could shooting through the truck and out the passengers window. There was no time for camera adjustments just took what I could get.

"Where beauty moves and wit delights and signs of kindness bind me; there, oh there, whe'er I go I leave my heart behind me." (Thomas Ford, 1607)
Peregrines are not an easy capture.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
