Hello I am new to the forum and thought i would share two photos I took this past weekend to see what you all thought of them. These were shot at a community festival, the group that had the birds there had rescued the animals from being hit by cars and other means of hurting the birds.

Hi, welcome to the wildlife forum! And I'm glad these beautiful owls survived! I like both photos because the eyes are in focus and sharp, and the owls are such a great subjects! I prefer the background in the second photo because it is not in focus, so that the bird shows up better and gets all the attention. The truck or whatever it is in the background of the first photo is a little distracting, but I also know that you can't always pick your backgrounds. On my computer monitor, the white areas, especially in the first photo, seem so white that I cannot see the detail of the feathers. And the ears in the first photo are a little blurry, so may be your shutter speed was a little too slow to stop the action? People in this forum can help you address most any issue, and the way to get the most helpful and precise suggestions is to list what general type of camera you used, the lens, and the settings, like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. And in the Dgrin tutorial section Harry, the moderator, has a great tutorial on wildlife photography that I got a lot out of. Best regards, and hope to see more of your photos soon! Pam
