SmugMug Domain credit

GoDaddy is giving one month credit to all the customers in an email sent out this morning.

We people who registered domains using SmugMug Domains also get a one month credit on their domains?

I ask because I registered DanalPhotos.com with SmugMug domains and haven't gotten an email with the credit.

Thanks,
Dan

    Hi Dan,

Getting a domain from SmugMugdomains is actually getting an account from GoDaddy that's pre-configured for SmugMug. You should get the credit since you have a GoDaddy account but please contact GoDaddy support to make sure.

Hiya Dan - Just to elaborate, GoDaddy has a specific team for SM/GD customers - you can contact them through this page: http://tinyurl.com/8k9gnzr (regular GD support may not be able to assist)

Well, now I'm annoyed. I purchased two domains from GoDaddy, and I didn't get any credit.

OK, $2 isn't going to annoy me much, but just in case you were curious, at least one GoDaddy direct customer got nothing.

GoDaddy support is pretty good - especially if you talk to someone on the phone. It might be worth giving them a ring, to see if they're willing to add credit to your account, etc.

Yes, but given the average time to reach someone is maybe 10-20 minutes (at least when I've called - at least to reach someone with a brain), at $4 total -- that's about $12/hour and I'll take the 20 minutes instead.

And be annoyed they didn't give it to me.

It's like rebates -- I hate them -- it's like a sale but only if you work for it.

If they make you wait 20 minutes (especially after their DNS fiasco), you might get more than $4 out of them... I haven't complained yet about my 50 domains going down (I'll chalk it up to being lazy) - but I'm guessing that it's worth it to them to keep good customers. Ask for free renewals or something. It's worth a shot :-)
