I took these at night at a retreat center i frequent. I found the lights captivating and just would like to hear if anybody thinks they are visually captivating as a scape. Thoughts?

    Not for me Joel.

I don't find them captivating at all in this context. Context can change a simple photo quite easily.

A variation on #1 might work with a tighter crop. I think it's an idea worth pursuing-- but the images as presented don't quite do it for me.

I am in agreement....reshoot #1 at dusk, just after the lights come one, but with enough ambient light to brighten it a bit... the idea is cool....

Agree with the others - idea is excellent but need more light to brighten it up/show more of the background to fill out the scene. Just have to ensure the lights do not get burnt out.
For #2, are they close to water that will give reflections? Again could be good but need more light in the scene to fill out what looking at.
