My first hornet

In Furzey gdns New Forest. A tree appeared to be weeping sap from damage caused by hornets. There were many butterflies but also a few hornets around. Several hornets were buzzing the butterflies but one hornet stayed on the tree trunk. The reason soon became obvious- one pair of it's wings had been chopped off.

Goof find , have spent many hours just watching them hunting this year, but no chance of a shot . Always on the go very rarely settle for more than few seconds .
