This one taken a couple of years ago. Durango Station, Colorado. 478 about to leave for Silverton (8:30AM), engine 480 (background) warms up for it's run at 9:15.

3 image HDR, tripod, mirror-lock up, remote shutter. Photomatix & Photoshop in post-processing.

    This image brings back some good memories!

    I hope that you took the time to ride the train from Durango to Silverton. It's awesome! thumb.gif

    For me, a steam engine whistle way up in the Rockies is one of the two best sounds to be heard in the woods/mountains!

    Hey Randy,

    No didn't ride this one, but a couple of years earlier we rode the Cumbres & Toltec up beyond the Cumbres Pass, and it was awesome. Along those mountains and valleys, wow.
