Upload folders as galleries?

Hi all,

Is there a way or a tool that would enable me to batch upload folders of photos to smugmug and use the folder name as the gallery name? I have several folders organised on my disk and do not want to upload their contents folder by folder if there is a simpler way.

Any help and types woul be appreciated.

I'm not aware of an auto-gallery creation option on any of the smug uploaders. The upload button gives you a choice of creating a new gallery or selecting an existing gallery.

Star*Explorer has an option to create galleries from folders, but the help text says to use it with care. This is not a free uploader though; you would need to purchase a copy of it.

Star Explorer, Smug Loader and Smugftp are all possible solutions for your upload problem.

Otherwise, you can just queue them up in individual upload sessions (tabs) using the web uploaders and let them upload in parallel. As long as you do less than 10 at a time, you should be okay. And if your computer can handle more, do more in parallel than just 10.
