Outdoor session from this morning. Tried a few different things to see if they would work and to shake my routine up a little bit.

This one was done with my friend JohnGalt_NY in mind. I, and others, bust his chops about the backgrounds being in focus and I thought I'd try one. I tied to pick a location that would stand on it's own and then put the subject into the scene. Not sure if I like it or not.

I've started to play around with adding a kicker light with some outdoor shots. Kind of makes it a three light setup. Sunlight, Fill and Kicker. My results vary. This one had a reflector just below the subjects chest too.

This is one of my "stand by poses". I do it a lot and I just like it.

Not my favorite of the set, but I caught her mid laugh and I like the expression.

Still working on this pose. Not quite where I want it yet.

Another "stand by" that I can always count on to "work".

This is a new one. Hadn't tried this scene before. I think it has potential.

Another new spot for doing "frame fillers". I think the pattern from the park bench works for this.

Thanks for looking. Input, good, bad or otherwise is always welcome and appreciated!

#1 and #2 for me, but for different reasons, but to me, #2 edges all of them out. All are super nice, DOF is off the charts. so to speak, glad I'm not her dad lol. Super infectious smile, and you did great on the eyes. Veryyy nice.

    Hi Bryce,

First, she is one GORGEOUS kid. Just an angelic smile and it comes through how comfortable she was with you. That's always a good thing.

I know I'm wrong again :cry but I like # 1. I think the background defines the set and she belongs in it. To me, she is strong enough that no background is "distracting". Of course, you know better than to listen to me on this issue.:D

That said, there isn't a frame in this set that I don't like and I apologize for my abject failure to pick a favorite. I guess if you put a gun to my head, I'd say the last one is just beyond the planet stunning but that doesn't take away from any of the others.

1 and 2 for me, but all are excellent. Just the first two are above the others because of the lighting. I'm a sucker for studio look outdoors. The scene in 1 would be good without the subject and the Rembrandt lighting with the kicker lights is very creative use of natural and artificial light.
