Bull Elk - Why you get off the road....

I came across this 6-point bull elk last weekend while tracking some cow elk along a trail. The bull was bugling as it moved around the area, so I set up in what I thought was the best location in case he appeared in the thick stand of trees. The bull elk cooperated by moving between two trees that were lit up by the morning sun... then he let out a bugle. I love this time of year!!!!

I love this time of year too. Going back up in the mountains tomorrow to see if I can get some sparring photos.
He's a healthy looking bull.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Good job!
