Thank you. We have a very good soccer program here at USF. I've been loving my D800.

Here are some shots of a recent game I covered

    These are great.

I've been shooting Soccer with the same camera and lens, and agree that it works well (i'm shooting 14 year olds, so probably not putting it to the same test as you).

The flip throw is really cool to see in person. I hadn't heard of this until about a week ago, then saw it done by a player on an opposing team. Really cool.

These are just not cropped tight enough. Look at #2. Crop out the person in the background and get closer to the action. You need more isolation to have more compelling soccer photos.

The metadata indicates that these were shot at f/2.8 (at least, all that i checked were).

How can isolation be further increased?

By cropping...There is a lot of good action that is nevertheless diminished by distractions in the background and periphery.

OK, thanks. I saw the word "isolation" and thought there was something else I needed to know about controlling depth of field.

Sorry, but I meant that these were poorly cropped. The subjects need to be better isolated by cropping them to eliminate distracting and unnecessary elements in these photos.

They also seem to be a bit underexposed on my monitor.
