Are you bumping saturation in post, or do you have your camera set up that way, or is it just the bazillion MP's of the D800? There just seems to be that little extra burst of color similar to Fuji vs. Kodak in the olden days.

ME too! and so does mom, she ordered a huge print and is getting it custom framed. makes me happy!
thanks everyone, this was fun for all of us and the girls loved getting beautified. hope to be done with the other two tonight or tomorrow.
Bryce, i'm not sure what I did exactly but I usually mess with the shadows/highlights/whites/blacks to my liking, increase vibrance about 5 in LR, custom curve, then I play with individual color saturations and luminosities. everything is done in LR4 until it looks like I want it. (then I usually go back the next day and I don't like it, so i change everything again ).
but I'm sure the D800 files have a lot to do with it as well! that camera is just ridiculous. best money i've spent.

Natural selection is responsible for every living thing that exists.
D3s, D500, D5300, and way more glass than the wife knows about.
Damnit these are stellar!
What was your lens choice?
