Thursday afternoon a USAF B1 bomber flew low over the house on its aproach to Pearce air base. Went to the air show today for a closer look.

This B1 bomber is from Rapid City SD but now deployed on Guam

With budget cuts etc the crew has to make do by selling T-shirts :rofl

Ed, some nice shots of the B-1, the only airshow I ever went to that had one on the ground was so long ago they were very new. They were roped off with armed Marines around 'em. Guess they aren't as "cutting edge" now!

Did they do a demonstration flight with it? The B-1 is surprisingly agile if the pilot wants to show it off.

Thanks for the compliment, unfortunately no, just a static display. It did a circuit of Perth escorted by two BAE Hawk 127's before landing. Looks like it flew from Guam just for the show returning back to base on Monday, your tax dollar hard at work. clap.gif
    Cheers, Ed

I see you had yourself a wonderful time at the show :D
They don't look all that comfy inside do they rolleyes1.gif but they must get the most awesome views for sure.
I got to have a look inside a Hercules at Avalon earlier this year it had been used to bring back the injured home from the Bali bombings....... amazing to see the inside of such an aircraft.
Thank you for sharing your images Ed ........ Skippy (Australia)
