Mono Lake, California...

When we left Yosemite, we came out via the Tioga Pass, and came right down into Mono Lake. Unfortunately the timing got us there in the middle of the day with the sun still pretty high in the sky. I didn't think I'd be able to get much, but tried to salvage my time using the circular polarizer. Not as dramatic as the sunrise shots some have gotten, but I think the color came out decent for the time of day. Let me know what you think...

Very clean images, excellent detail, no blown out tufa. Good capture and processing. Well done images at the wrong time of day. :D

I like the composition of #1 I would try and darken the Tuffas.
When I was there I got lucky and was able to convince my wife to drive back there for sunset. I think the desert in Lee Vining helped with that. rolleyes1.gif

Philip, I'm jealous of you. My wife would have had no problem going back for sunset, but unfortunately this was one day where I didn't have an extra time built in. Our eventual destination was Zion NP in Utah, but had to drive across Utah to get there. Being that there is virtually nowhere to stay in the middle of Nevada, I was pushing my luck trying to get to Tonopah which has some hotels. I guess it's an excuse to go back one day...
