Lady Bird, Lady Bird, Fly Away Home

Hi ya folks :D on my recent trip to USA ......awwwwww I love that country :rolleyes
Ya know the girls at work always say why don't you just go and live there ???
and I say..........cause they won't let me stay :rofl and I gotta keep working so I can keep visiting the place :nod

I at least got to photograph a Lady Bug while I was there, and again those American Bugs are bigger than the Ozzie one's.

I used to think it was just me that couldn't get as close as I really wanted to be, but I took particular notice of the bugs this time in USA and they are much bigger than the bugs found in my neck of the woods, including the Ants.

    You are right about the size differences- just the old joke of everything being bigger in the USA.

    That particular plant the Lady Bug was on had a lot of bugs on it, but the size of those Lady Bugs is what made me look twice ......there were smaller ones too, but I was quite surprised at the size of them, as ours are quite small in comparison......... glad you liked it .....     You will find a huge assortment of Bugs and much more colourful bugs than what I do....... I know they have really big and beautiful bugs way up North where the weather is more Tropical here in Australia, but most of what I found around the place is either Black, Brown, Grey, or White or combinations of all Four.

    I was out there in front of the little flower bed, looking for Humming birds :D or at least hoping for a Humming bird Moth......had to settle for a Lady Bug ne_nau.gif it was better than nothing.

    I hope next year when I am in USA it will be a better time to spot Humming birds as I will be there in May.....then again maybe May is too soon ??? I dunno ?

    nice shot skippy but i have to disagree about insect sizes-here is a bullant-they dont come much bigger-up north there are insects so big they will make you scream.

    Those flowers were such a pretty pink, and was glad the Lady Bug was so big :D
    Next time.....now that I've had some tips from Brian I will be better prepared and should get more keepers than I did this time around.

    Yes I've seen those big Bull Ants, they have huge jaws don't they.
    Yup I know the bugs way up North are much bigger than down in our neck of the woods, they have Tropical Weather and that means EVERYTHING GROWS :D
    It's too cold down here for anything much.......I wish we had Tropical Weather, I'd be having a ball looking for bugs.......they are also very colourful the bugs up North, saw a bunch of really nice ones in Cairns.
