What type of mount would I need to attach my sb900 stobe to my tripod? ........And where could I get it from?

It never gets easier, you just get better.
it does but it does not give you any tilt adjustment nor any way to add an umbrella or softbox ... ...I use mine simply as the actual flash mount, but still have the tilt-able umbrella holder under it....
I agree, but if you're in a jam... it works!
Now.. I was able to tilt/turn using the ballhead on my tripod :D:D

If this is for shooting quad racing in the woods, a little stand like this is usually tall enough and easy to carry. The whole set up is inexpensive too.
