Hey fellas...howdy from Croatia. I woke up early today and tried to get some dawn shots in my town...please critique. I feel I'm stuck in my photographyical dimensions, as if I my shots have the same "feel" to it, I don't know...

Good morning. It would make it much easier to comment on your photos if there were fewer of them and/or they were numbered. I like the composition of the 2nd to last one. Not a big fan of centered subjects. The soft light of dawn really highlights the buildings and boats.

    Welcome to the forum.

Ceci is right. You will usually get far more meaningful critiques if you limit your postings to about 5 or 6 pictures at most. Numbering them also helps those wishing to comment. You've obviously got an environment rich in photographic opportunities. A longer range view of the town is fine...it helps to set the stage, but after seeing a couple of those I would have liked to see some closer shots that depict the people as they live and work. I realize that most town life was not active at early hours like this.

I'm looking forward to more work from you. Strive to incorporate a real variety in your production. That can help when you feel stagnant. Good luck.

Nice set. You're lucky to live somewhere so beautiful. I was there briefly in 2009. Love the view from that bell tower.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I feel stuck in my photography endevours, as if I keep taking the same old bland "landscape this, cityscape that" shots...and as I've stated on my website...I don't want to do HDR or timelapse (I find timelapse extremely pretentious and boring) ... I think I'll start walking around and ask people to pose :)

Or even do some candid street shots showing people going about their daily business. And, with the amazing architecture you have there, why not try some close-up detail shots? I bet they'd be spectacular.
