Hey Ian, thanks for the catch... I'll have to fix it...
Sport?? ... It's not competition... it's an exhibition.
Someone Playing his instrument for entertainment.... it just doesn't happen to be a saxophone
It's not in my definition of a sport....
Thanks for looking in
Like so many things in life, people have an amusing (alarming?) range of opinions about what is, or is-not "true" (insert subject here). I guess that just goes with the Human Condition.
This thread reminds me that, years ago, a well-known San Diego sportscaster started a HUGE controversy by asserting that the activities of Golf and Automobile Racing were not (truly) Sports.
OMG!
This provided endless hours of passionate debate from both sides of the isle. As I had no opinion, it was amusing to watch, and it taught me that, for some, we should add Sports to the list of socially taboo topics - much like Religion and Politics.
It seems to me that, sometimes, Photography aspires to that list also.....

WTF? Hemingway said the only true sports were bullfighting, mountaineering and motor racing. All the others were just games. It seems to me that if a human is intentionally putting his body in peril to no practical purpose, it's sport.

This post has been moved from documentary to the sports forum where it doesn't belong
This activity is an exhibition not a sport.
Again, thanks for the comments
It is no different from a guitar player playing his instrument on a street corner which is in Documentary normally.
They both are using instruments to entertain
The new moderator has a very narrow view.
I'm OK with where it is and with the moderator moving the post where it logically belongs.
I think you mean "ragspix.smugmug.com".
Mountain and BMX bikers do it too!
Sorry about that whole other thing...... I think you just had a visit to the Outer Limits. :confused
An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.
