Small Dogs and Halloween

Photoshoot with my dogs, in their new halloween costumes. While I think I'm getting better, there are still things I think I could have done better.
Since these guys are pretty small, even with my 70-200, i get in pretty close to fill the frame. I think this just continues to give me too little DOF, even at 5.6, I think I'm just going to have to maybe move to f/8 or something, just get myself some room to keep them in focus.
I also think I could have done better with the background pumpkin position. I should have shifted around a bit I think so that it didn't intersect with one of the dogs.
Additional thoughts?
