Went over to Manchester last night to watch Toyah perform. It was 30 years to the day that she released the "Changeling" album which was a formative album in my teens. :)

We were worried that the illusion would be shattered, but the small venue, about 150 ageing people forming the audience, and Toyah really getting up for it, it was a superb gig!

Not allowed "professional type" cameras, so i didn't bother with the 40D...instead I took my mum's Olympus SZ-10. I think it did a great job!

Here's a couple of the main support act "Global Citizen" and 3 of Toyah. :)

My ears are still ringing!

Hmmmm...maybe I'm old and no one remembers Toyah? Or maybe my photos are no good?
Or there are no Brits around who even know who Toyah is?

    Ah well.

You could be right. Although I lived in Manchester for about six months, I haven't the faintest idea who these folks are. Might be an age thing too.

FWIW, I think fans of this group would find the images nice to look at and enjoyable. Me, I'm kinda, eh... ne_nau.gif

Ah, they're not especially Manchester bands...Toyah was big in the early 80s. The other guy is a current band who I'd never heard of..just liked the photos. :)

Looks like Toyah didn't become too big here in the U.S. -- I don't remember her either. But nice shots -- looks like it must have been a fun show.

No, I don't think she did make it too big in the US.
It was a great show...thanks for liking the shots...I don't think the little compact zoom from olympus did too bad! :)

'Its a mystery' to me that no one else knows Toyah ;-)

Bend is probably the only other one who will get that reference. Good to see she is still out there performing

Indeed. Although it should be "Itth a mythtery" ;)

She is performing, and performing well on small stages, with the odd larger gig here and there. It was a great show. :)
