I received a new (to me) lens Friday, a 300mm F4 AF lens. Looks like it was never used. Pretty good for $440 (this is the older non AF-S version though).

I took it up to the mountains for some wildlife photography, but the light wasn't there since it was cloudy/dark and snowy. Got a few decent photos though, but no real keepers.

Shot with the Nikon D600. I need to get a 1.4x teleconverter.

What a terrific set. The first one is a great catch - the way his lighter fur sets off the darker fur on his head is especially effective. And the snow in the last few...great atmosphere.

If that is the 300mm AF ED f4 with the sliding sun hood, it is a great lens, well built (heavy) and sharp
Very nice shots by the way

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
