Hi y'all,

One of my favorite things to do at the wetlands is just to observe the behavior of the snowy egrets. They always put on a show.

the approach

the landing

the hunt starts

searching

prey is spotted

the chase, note the fish just ahead of the egret

the strike

success

then it starts all over again

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Birdman, it is one of those white birds, eats fish!

They are all good photos for a "white bird", I like the last one best.

ginger, on a gray crummy day (My camera is supposed to be back tomorrow, but all the emphasis is on my hurt dog..............my camera might be for sale if the vet quotes too high a price.)

It is my birthday: 66. Birdman, you should enjoy this, I am in a fowl mood!
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

I think the real question is what kind of fish is that?

    ginger (Isn't a "fish" a nature thing?)

Did you try to save it, Harry?

Don't be silly Ginger. I mean the wetlands are surrounded by a cattle farm. I would be annoyed if someone tried to save the cattle. Where would I go for my steaks and burgers?

Thanks Jeff. The Reddish Egret is still the champ when it comes to non-stop movement. He's never stands still.

Thank you to everyone who wished me and my dog well. Skye has x-rays and things scheduled for next week, meanwhile he is to lie still, not move a muscle and read books.

Thanks you all, sorry for stealing your thread, Harry. Thank you for the birthday pom poms from you and the wishes from all, too.

    In general: thanks .........

And again, really good photos, Harry. They are so good, I even change my mind on which I like best. Just a very good series of one of my favorite birds.
