    how were the last two lit? were you bouncing flash?

    Do like 1 & 2 especially when you prove you don't always need big expensive equip.

    last shots were bounced flash..angle that flash head 60 degree-ish up and pointed lightly behind you. thanks charles

    Let me answer for Qarik. The flash was in TTL mode but the camera was in manual (possibly aperture priority). Right? This lets the aperture/flash work in combo to properly expose the foreground while using the shutter speed in manual mode to capture the ambient light in the background. (Then again, I could be wrong).

    TTL and full manual in this case. hmm..I am not really sure what would happen if I was in aperture mode...I don't think that would work as the SS would go so slow to get exposure unless blurry bg is what you are going for.
