Timeline bug? Can't handle old picture taken dates?

I uploaded a picture taken in 1959 at my parents' wedding. I stamped the EXIF data of the scanned pictures with the correct date before uploading. When I went to the timeline on my homepage, however, the date is reflected as 1969 not 1959.

I used the same method for a picture taken in 1974 and it is showing correctly.

I wanted to check to see if the picture's EXIF data was showing up correctly for smugmug but since the EXIF data is limited to what I entered it appears smugmug doesn't expose it to the user (i.e. there is no clickable exif link). This is a separate issue.
