I am experiencing very slow load / display when trying to view my SmugMug site as well as other SmugMug sites????

Other websites are fine. Tried two computers. Checked internet speeds, all good.

Is Smug having problems???

Me too. Just created a new gallery and uploaded some photos and only two of fifteen are showing up.

Amazon Web Services, an important part of SmugMug's technology architecture, is currently experiencing issues. SmugMug remains online, but our ability to display photos and videos may be slower than usual. Our Technical Ops team has made adjustments to reduce any inconvenience to you and will continue to keep a close eye on the situation. Very sorry for the hassle.

Man I was thinking it was something I did. I just reverted back 4 updates to some JS that I updated earlier today thinking it was the problem only to find out it wasn't.

    Thanks for the update.

I am also experiencing the same thing today. Good to know that it isn't just me. Actually it started yesterday afternoon/last night. I am trying to upload photos and they don't display afterward.

Yeah, same here. Can't get all the thumbnails to load and some photos won't display at all.

p.s. ironically, this is happening just before my SM renewal. A renewal where the price was doubled. Hmmm... double the price for inferior service?

I'm not sure which is worse, waiting a minute and a half for thumbnails to load or having a case of dirreah and finding all the bathroom stalls in use...UGH.

The problem seems to be getting worse...time to turn out the lights and go home.

I have been trying to download the thumbnails for one of my galleries so that I can collect photos from it for over five hours and it appears to have completely stopped. Wow.

Just venting. I REALLY need to be able to collect photos for this client!

For what it's worth, I've had trouble uploading for weeks. Very slow uploads, many images 'time-out' without uploading. I used to be able to upload 100-200 images, go to bed, and have it all done when I got up the next morning. Now I can load 3-5 at a time. Any more than that gives me an error message. It has taken me all night to load 75 pictures. It is very frustrating--ESPECIALLY since this started happening right after the price increase was announced. I had planned to stay for one more year to see how things go, but now seriously re-thinking that one.

Try the Simple uploader. I keep getting a message that the html5 uploader is having problems. Been
seeing this for quite a while.

Also when the message appears in the upload box nothing is clickable to change uploaders.
Have to go out and back in then the Simple uploader most times shows up.

    Sherry,
Take a look at your upload log (account settings > stats > uploads > details). There are a number of "incomplete file" errors that indicate that we didn't receive the files in question completely.
If you're on a wireless connection, I'd recommend connecting with a cable to your router to see if that helps.
If you still have an issue, contact us at the HelpDesk along with details on what browser version and operating system you use and what antivirus, firewall or internet security software you have installed.
Once you email in with details, we can start troubleshooting further.

    STILL UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD THUMBNAILS!

I'm sort of dead in the water until this is resolved.

It is apparently out of SmugMug's hands but they need to re-valuate their relationship with Amazon or something because this is not good.

I've got a client waiting and can't build a gallery for him.

Well, I sure hope someone is at the help desk. It's been 2 hours and still no response. Only note I received is "we got your email". I'm usually very, very patient but this is trying my patience, especially today.

I have cable internet (with turbo boost) connected directly to my computer and the router. The other devices in my household connect wirelessly to the internet, but my computer is actually wired.

When my images stop uploading, the message I see on my screen is something like "Smugmug is not able to upload images now. Feel free to browse your site while we look under the hood."

While this is happening, I can be on the internet on another site or anyone else in the house can be on internet without a problem. The only problem I seem to be having is uploading pictures to smugmug. Last night, I could get 3 images loaded without a problem. If I put 10 images in the queue, the first three would load, the next three would begin to load and get almost to the end and then I'd get my smugmug error message. As long as I only loaded 3 images at a time, they all seem to load fine. I used to be able to just a couple of hundred pictures in the queue and go to bed knowing they would all be there in the morning. Now I have to babysit it and spoon feed it, so it can take all week to do something I used to do in one evening.

    It IS frustrating.

I will call tech support later this week when I have time to deal with it.
