So here's the story in a nutshell. Same sort of situation, but with my wife and 4 year old son. Suddenly one of the caccoons starts to shake and tremble. My wife calls me and my son over, miracle of nature, etc. The pod trembles more, shakes, and out comes ... this thing. Part moth, mostly caterpillar. My wife and I look at each other. Is it ... is it supposed to look like that? My wife hurries off to find an attendant, who quickly confirms that, no, no it is not supposed to look like that. We drag the kid away: "Oh look. butterflies!" But I will always remember the time I got to witness the miracle of one of Nature's horrible, horrible mistakes.
Pic here: not for the overly sensitive of stomach. Sadly, from what I've read, it wouldn't have lived for very long at all.
[/hijack off.] You may now resume admiring Tony's image. Thanks.
Ok, I like it as is. But it feels slightly too tightly composed. Is there a little more room left and right? I just keep butting up against the edge of frame when I look at the boy and the cocoons.

Not really. This was taken at a Farmer's Market where I had to shoot
through a hole in the crowd to get this view. I felt what I cropped out would
be distracting if left in. Normally I crop in a 2:3 ratio, but this is a square crop
because of what I felt were distracting elements.

But, thanks for the comment.

Wow. Red letter day. BD's back, and approved of one
of my images.

It's also preference. I do like tight shots.
