I'm not an expert here but I do know what I like & don't like. To me, the pose in 1 & 2, the way her legs are positioned, makes her look like...well um...not wanting to sugar coat it...like she has a fat azz.

    #5 was my favorite.

Overall I liked the pictures, but I hated the background. The headboard is nice, but the red wall popping out above it is distracting... at least to me.

Man, I have tried hotel shoots, it's tough. The size of the room, the colors on the wall. Oh and of course, there's that headboard to deal with lol. The best I have ever done, is prone poses on the bed, in front of a solid wall, sideways on the bed. If you guys really want to know, it was my wife on our last overnight trip and no, you won't get to see them lol.

I even thought about thumbtacking sheets up, just for something to shoot against?

She's a pretty gal, looks a little tired in #3. But these just don't work to me. Sorry my friend, I try not to be negative.

The pose, smile and eyes in shot #4 begins to work for me (the only one of the bunch), but that awful background ruins it from there.

I respect your comments guys but the room is the room. Barely big enough for Melissa, me and one light and no way to get higher. Thus it's the red wall or call off the shoot. My choice was to proceed.

Steve, the room is the room but there are always ways to deal with a less then stellar background. Controlled DOF is always the first choice. Beyond that you can light in such a way to drop the background out. Dropping BG exposure 1 - 1 1/2 stops under model exposure will darken it significantly to reduce the impact it has on the photo and help to isolate the model from it.

:D yes Steve my account and user name here are VERY OLD
