Business membership setup

2 parts, first to clarify what happens on my renewal date. I looked on SM and see that I will be converted to a Business level and my initial assumption was that on my May 2012 renewal date, I would be charged $200, and annually at that level after that. Is this correct?

Second part: If I use SM as my CMS (oh, don't you love acronyms?), what would be a reasonably priced membership (plug-in, service, ???) functionality that I can use to not only control which galleries can be seen, but can also handle subscription fees, membership periods and so forth?

Events seem to be a good starting place, but managing members of an event is not what I would call simple, nor does it allow for any real membership control mechanisms that I can tell. I realize that is not what it is designed for, just saying that setting up events is very similar to what I would be doing when creating a members only gallery (or category).

Thanks, and good luck during this next period of development,

-- Yes, in May you would begin paying the new price. Your renewals after that would be at whatever the current rate is. Seeing that there was a price increase this year, should rates go up again in the future, we would notify you beforehand and charge you at that rate.

I'm not sure what those have to do with my question about membership functionality. are you saying it can't be done or that I'd have to roll my own?
