Update to the Smugmug iPad app?

I noticed the Smugmug iPad app is no longer supported. It still sits on my iPad but it crashes when you try to open it. Based on feedback in the Apple store this is a universal problem. Are there any plans to update this app so it is functional again?

    We are working on a brand new iPad viewing app, thanks for your interest. Sorry, I don't have an ETA on when it will be ready.

    Have you seen the Camera Awesome app for iPad?

    I hope the app will allow a function that Smugwallet (which does not sync well and seems to have been abandoned for updates) where I can download all photos from the galleries I select and place onto my iPad. It would also see new/changed/deleted photos and do appropriate syncing. This is what I loved about Smugwallet, when it worked.

    They've been promising a new iPad app for years now. I've given up hoping that we'll see anything good anytime soon.
