Feeling sad

Hi Y'all,

I was shooting at the Viera Wetlands this morning and I got to thinking about my friend Kevin. Kevin is an outstanding photographer who lives in Orlando and has shot in the wetlands on numerous occasions but he hasn't been able to get an eagle shot yet.

As I was thinking about Kevin I ran into this fella hanging out at the observation deck.

Now I really felt bad because Kevin had missed those shots, I drove a bit further and i saw this scene.

Could it get any worse? All these eagles and no Kevin. bncry.gif I falt so bad that I had to hang out there and take a couple of hundred pictures just so I could forget how sad I was feeling.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

OK, Harry, since the birds are just sitting there like the proverbial "ducks", why hasn't he been able to get a shot when you have so many?

Am crying now, and if you don't believe that, I will send a photo.

They are beautiful birds, Harry, and you got great shots. What I don't understand is why he doesn't have at least a bad shot.

Like the Ospreys. I got bad shots, you and ben got great shots, but since we both had birds, ospreys, we both got some kind of shots!

Since this guy goes to the same place you go, why doesn't he have a shot of an eagle?

Maybe if I knew what he is doing wrong, I could apply it to myself and find an eagle. I can start out with bad shots, but it was just a thought..........

Is it time of day? (I put my camera together and had to concentrate which broke up the crying jag. They replaced the top of the camera, interesting.)

Thanks Mike. Good luck with the osprey. I haven't many of them around lately. In fact I'm seeing more eagles than ospreys lately. ne_nau.gif

Sorry you are feeling so sad Ginger.

Kevin lives in Orlando and has a 45 mnute drive to the Wetlands. He also has the misfortune to be a wage slave. I live 15 minutes from the Wetlands and I'm retired. I have the option to bop on down there anytime I'm in the mood.

There's not a lot of skill required to get these shots you just have to be in the right place at the right time. Since I'm there a lot more than Kevin the odds are in my favor.

Well John, while I was happy for myself, I felt bad that poor ole Kevin wasn't there to get his first eagle shot. 15524803-Ti.gif

Actually I was kind of happy.

Thanks Mushy. It is always a thrill just to see these magnificent creatures. Getting a few pics in is the cherry on top of the sundae.
