Sharpening JPG's

Hello,
D700 Nikon Raw files uploaded to my computer at 2832pix x 4256 pix 240 resolution, then tweaked in Photoshop (except sharpening)... saved as Tiff files. Then I downsized to 1916 pix x 2880 240 resolution JPG's. Next sharpened images... Not sure how much I should sharpen, just based on what I see on my computer screen. I plan on using BayPhoto which I understand does not sharpen images.
Q #1: Is it all right to downsize my Tiff files to JPG?
Q: #2: How much can I or should I sharpen my JPG's ?
Any help is appreciated,
SyBerGuy

You will have to save your TIFF files as JPEG files in order to upload them to the site as the site does not accept TIFF files. If you're worried about the quality of the file, save it at quality 12 when you save as JPEG.
Sharpening is really dependent on the print size. Over sharpening on a 4 x 6 print may not be noticeable but that same image printed as a 16 x 24 print will show artifacting if the image is over sharpened. Our Proof Delay feature allows you to proof the client's order and set crops or replace the image in the order with a image that has sharpening to your liking and to match the print size. There is no one number fits all and the amount of sharpening will change from image to image.
