I like the concept. Since you asked, here are a few rocks:
The difference in color temperature between the guy and the buildings is too extreme. The face of the first tall building on the left seems to be completely blown or painted out, dunno. The light just looks inconsistent. The hands need more work to look plausible. They are casting no shadows at the contact points. There's something a little wrong about the way the fingers on the right cover both a billboard and a building far in the background.
You'll probably need to reshoot to get this one to come together. But it's definitely a cool idea, so keep at it.
i recall this concept was used in a series of fashion ads. something about stepping through time or such. I'm sorry I can't recall specifics at the moment

One of the things I like about your work, Rags, is that there is usually some pronounced creativity involved....either in concept, or execution, but often in both.
I like the " improved " version better. The execution in this case, though, lags a little behind the concept. I don't know enough about the realm you're working in here to make meaningful suggestions, particularly on the technical side. The guy still looks....I don't know...off.....and the hands even more so. But maybe that level of execution is all that's required?
I love the concept. I'd like to see how far you could take this theme, if you are so inclined.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I'm liking less sat more highlight on the peeper.
Not quite sure yet if I like the split in the middle or the side;

Weirdness = Good
I have those same bags under my eyes most days....

Concept might have validity but the shots may not
