Does this photo work better in color or BW? What do you think about it overall?

I like both but both to me are way oversharpened. This is quite evident in the treeline and the boater.

Thanks. I'm kind of leaning towards the color actually.

I think it may be the output sharpening I had set because it doesn't look over sharpened in the LR catalog.

    Bw
The BW version appeared on my monitor first and I immediately thought "color". Then a second later the color version popped in and I changed. The blue sky is nice, but that is the only color. The boat and tree are a silhouette, no color. The water is dark, maybe if it was turquoise and clear then color would be the pick.

The color version is actually monotone also, just that it is blue not shades of black. I love the BW version and might even experiment to add more drama to the sky. Nice stuffthumb.gif

    PB...

Yes, the color version is also pretty monochromatic. I kind of like that about it. But I also like the BW. Still leaning color though.

I'm kind of split on it, Alex. I'm usually not a huge B&W fan, but in this one I like the starkness of the monochrome version. Lovely comp. thumb.gif

Thanks Joel. I'm still leaning towards color but I do like the BW for the same reasons you do.

This is just my two-cent rule, i usally go for a B&W if i don't really have interesting colours to show but for this image either of the two i really do like.

Both look great, but I'm leaning slightly to the B&W. Have you tried a de-saturated color version? Kind of in-between the two?
